Robot for laying tiles
Paving without back pain and with impeccable joints? Stop imagining it. The solution is called P900 and it is a robot that lays tiles without getting tired.
If you have ever laid pavement, even just a few ceramic pieces, you will know that you end up with a sore back and praying that the joints are level.
From the Chinese company Partner Robotics, they present P900. An autonomous robot designed for tile laying on interior floors, but intended for large surfaces, and it seems to do it quite well.
Robot P900: Automatic, high-precision tile paving for expansive areas. Step into the new era!
It’s not just about automation. It is equipped with SLAM navigation technology, a global leveling and lifting system, positioning and mortar placement for tiles, it even has a vibration system.
Imagine executing the paving of a project at an unprecedented speed, impeccable quality, and significantly reduced costs. From large corridors in buildings to train stations, airports, offices, or schools, it’s crazy!
It can lay up to 18 m² per hour, roughly every 40 seconds it lays a tile. Handling tiles ranging from 450×450 mm to large ones of 900×900 mm and weighing up to 20 kg each.
This paving robot has a load capacity of up to 950 kg and can operate for more than 6 hours on a single charge. It is directly a giant step for the world of construction… Why?
- Greater efficiency: It can pave up to 18 m²/h, faster than traditional manual methods when talking about large surfaces.
- Improved quality: This paving robot uses advanced technologies to ensure precise and consistent tile placement.
- Reduction of labor costs: Automation reduces the need for labor, saving costs!
- Mitigation of labor shortage: It addresses the problem of labor shortage in the construction industry.
- Versatility: It can handle various tile sizes and has been used in different environments (residential, commercial, etc.).
- High load capacity: It can handle tiles up to 20 kg and has a load capacity of up to 950 kg.
🟧 Note: From the following PDF you can identify some technical features of the robot.
Whether you like it or not, construction works will be automated significantly in a few years, especially those of large dimensions and hefty budgets.
And what about wall tiling? Don’t worry, robotics is everywhere. Watch the following video:
In this case, it is from the company Duco Robots. It seems they specialize in robotic arms, although I couldn’t get more information about this latest machinery.
We have already published several examples of robotic technology for construction; from an autonomous bulldozer to an autonomous robot that traces the layout of surfaces or one that is dedicated to touring the construction site capturing the entire construction process.
Are these robots perfect? Well, no, and they surely have a thousand flaws. But just as you use AI to be more efficient at work, those repetitive tasks in construction will be automated.
In fact, if you take a walk through a construction and works machinery fair, the big ones, they seem directly like a spaceship.
