Today we will look at programs with artificial intelligence for interior design. Those doubts about how you want to design a house… What design will look good? What style? What can I put and what not on that wall? What color? They are resolved in minutes.

2.- Upload Image

The program uses as input for the analysis a 2D image of an interior space, a photograph uploaded by the user. It is recommended that the photograph taken shows the entire room at a 90° right angle looking horizontally at a wall or window for better results!

The uploaded photographs and the rendered images are automatically deleted after 15 minutes. And to obtain a high-quality render, you need to switch to the paid plan.

3.- Select the type of room and visual mode

We have to select the type of room we are going to design; kitchen, dining room, living room, study, garden, etc. And the visual mode of how the image will look. There are three visual modes:

• The Virtual Staging mode: automatically detects the space. The walls, ceiling, beams, etc., and tries to avoid changing them.
• The Interior Design mode: does not change the space, but provides more creative ideas, the best option we can adopt!
• The Freestyle mode: where strange things appear directly.

4.- Choose the decoration style

Next, you can modify the image to adapt it to one of the 30 styles listed on the platform, ranging from the minimalist style, vintage or Christmas, to Art Nouveau, industrial, etc. In the following table, you have all the styles available…

The other options are related to the number of renders we can see, their quality, and whether the result is public or private. Options that we can change if we opt for the Pro version, which for testing is not necessary!

Things learned with Interior AI

• If the rooms have furniture or are full of stuff, the results are better. At least, it throws more creative ideas.
• If the view of the room is wider, photographed with three walls, it also seems to have more play to offer different and better results. Do not photograph just one wall!
• For the living-dining room or a bedroom, it throws good ideas. Less so in the kitchen.
• For the exterior, it provides good results. Recommended to try!
• With less cluttered styles; minimalist, zen, etc… If you provide an image of an empty room, you will have poor results.
• The Interior Design mode has provided us with more coherent renders.
• Do not use Virtual Staging mode when it is a photo of a construction – renovation, the walls will appear as they are, seen as in the uploaded image.

9.- The app Homevision AI

In this case, we focus on an app for interior design with AI with more than decent results. It follows the same line as web applications but more focused on mobile use.

The Homevision (AI Home Redesign) application has a fairly extensive free version and then different subscription levels.
