Who we are

OVACEN is a digital newspaper based in Valencia (Spain) with more than 13 years working to disseminate different disciplines related to the field of architecture, construction and energy efficiency in the works, sustainable urbanism, industrial design, issues related to renewable and alternative energies, or articles related to the environment and ecology.

Our beginnings were focused on an architectural firm that involved different young professionals with disciplines as disparate as engineering, real estate, construction and technical work, urban planning and digital marketing.

Over time, our work was transferred to the online world creating the digital newspaper OVACEN where we try to provide news, innovation and opinion articles always from a perspective of quality, seriousness and with projects that involve society from a sustainable perspective.

Apart from our central platform, we also believe it is necessary to disseminate and educate on issues related to biodiversity, nature and ecosystems of the Earth. From this perspective, we have a great educational agenda that can be consulted HERE.

Our objectives and commitment

We strive to avoid the noise by providing reliable, truthful and accessible content. Everything we publish on OVACEN is created with these fundamental promises in mind:

  • To report with integrity. When it comes to our content, we are committed to full transparency. Sponsored content is clearly marked as such, and we disclose all potential conflicts of interest.
  • We trust the science. We will never be swayed by the latest fashionable opinions or political spin. The basis of our writing, editing and fact-checking processes is rigorous scientific research, and we always cite our sources.
  • We reject Greenwasing or Green Marketing. Companies spend a lot of money a year on marketing and know the power of green change, even when they are misleading. We totally reject these practices that go against our thinking and attitude.
  • We believe in real sustainability. Saving the planet is not an option, it is an obligation. At OVACEN we try to disseminate and add value with articles aimed at making users understand the importance of preserving the environment and planet Earth.

Editorial Policy and Guidelines

Our in-house editorial staff oversees all articles on our website, always from an objective and quality perspective by contrasting the sources presented. Our writers are experts in their subjects, with years of knowledge gathered in the academic, professional and real world. The editors are university graduates and professors from the world of education who bring a tested and positive value to the articles; we have designed and built buildings and houses, practiced sustainable urbanism and loved nature. All for bringing our experience to the writing.

  • Sources and citations

Not all sources of information are equal, and we place the utmost importance on evaluating the sources we use to ensure that the information we publish is reliable. Our writers and editors adhere to strict standards for article sourcing.

We rely on current and reputable primary sources, such as interviews with experts, government organizations, and professional and academic institutions, and all data, facts and claims are supported by at least one reputable source. One of the cornerstones of our reporting and data is to take into account the viewpoints often ignored by many journalists.

The strength of sources is a critical factor in OVACEN’s success as an authoritative and useful resource. Sources are noted in the text and/or included in citation format to provide the reader with full context.

We try to create infographics and schematic charts to provide a better understanding of the subject matter covered in the article or photographs and videos that add value.

  • Fact Checking

Our editors research claims and confirm all information and data collected for all articles. Articles are rigorously evaluated for accuracy, relevance and timeliness, and are thoroughly reviewed by an editor.

All articles are checked to ensure the highest possible accuracy and precision (Information includes links to reputable media sites, academic institutions and organizations, and occasionally scientific studies). All information on our website has been reviewed, however, if you feel that our content is inaccurate, in error, outdated or questionable, you can contact us for corrections at info@ovacen.com.

  • Article updates

News articles usually cover a specific event in time, so they are not routinely updated. Our editorial teams continually evaluate and update news articles to ensure they are timely, accurate and relevant. Each article is date stamped to reflect the last update. If you wish to report an error, you may do so by sending an email to info@ovacen.com.

  • Artificial Intelligence

At OVACEN, we are committed to providing top-notch content created by people for people. It is against our editorial policies to publish materials automatically generated by artificial intelligence-based writing tools, such as ChatGPT.

  • Article Corrections

From time to time, errors do occur. In these cases, our editorial teams undertake to inform readers when a factual error occurs in a news story or article at the time of publication. We will correct the error as soon as possible and advise readers of the correction. All corrections will be clearly labeled as such and indicated at the bottom.

  • Diversity and Inclusion

Our mission at OVACEN is to disseminate quality information, but we cannot do so without looking at other issues. Issues of oppression and systemic racism are inextricable from the climate crisis, and its consequences disproportionately affect marginalized groups. More than advocating for the environment, we must advocate for environmental justice, which includes talking about inclusion, equality, and human rights.
